Kevin Webb 2025 Conservation Police Officer of the Year
Nottoway County native also awarded national recognition
Richmond, VA—The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) announces that Conservation Police Senior Officer Kevin Webb is the department’s 2025 Conservation Police Officer (CPO) of the Year.
Webb began his career with DWR in 2016 after serving with the Blackstone Police Department. During his tenure, Webb has demonstrated exceptional leadership, initiative and skill, serving as a field training officer for new officers and a driver training instructor. Most recently he’s led investigations that resulted in multiple felony convictions and is currently working on a complicated, high-profile case with charges that include felony murder.
“Senior Officer Webb exemplifies his dedication to public service, often providing assistance outside his assigned district and responding off duty for critical incidents” said Colonel John J. Cobb. “His professionalism and persistence have led to successful prosecutions and commendations from Commonwealth’s Attorneys and the public.”
In addition to receiving the CPO of the Year Award, Senior Officer Webb, who’s assigned area includes Nottoway County, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 North American Wildlife Enforcement Officers Association “Officer of the Year” Award. This award is given annually to the top Natural Resource Law Enforcement Officer in the United States and Canada whose character is beyond reproach, is competent, knowledgeable, and capable, promotes wildlife law enforcement, and demonstrates professionalism in every facet of life. This is the fourth time a CPO from Virginia has won this prestigious award.
CPO of the Year is selected by a delegation of the nominees’ peers from across the state. For more information about the annual DWR Conservation Police Awards Ceremony, including winners of several other awards and photos of the event, please visit the department webpage.
