Officer First Class Tyler Dagliano Awarded Boating Officer of the Year
Richmond, VA— Conservation Police Officer First Class (CPO) Tyler Dagliano was recognized by the Board of Wildlife Resources as the 2025 Boating Law Enforcement Officer of the Year during their August meeting. In addition to this Department recognition, Dagliano received a 2025 MADD Virginia Law Enforcement Award.
Dagliano, a Virginia native from Henrico County, began his career with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) in 2021 and is currently assigned to King and Queen County.
In 2025, CPO Dagliano participated in 39 boat patrols, conducted two boating incident investigations, and made 30 boating related arrests including one for reckless operation of a watercraft, five for boating under the influence (BUI) while also assisting in four additional BUI arrests. In addition to his law enforcement duties, Dagliano participated in three boating safety outreach events.
“Dagliano’s passion for the safety of Virginia’s boating public is evident every time he’s on the water,” said Colonel John J. Cobb. “His expertise in BUI enforcement and his mentorship and training of the next generation of CPOs helps ensure that those recreating on Virginia waters are safe in every corner of the Commonwealth. He assists with enforcement outside his assigned area and is always willing to impart knowledge on new and veteran CPOs. He is true asset to the Department and the community.”
In addition to CPO Dagliano’s current accolades, he was the 2026 Region 1 Operation Dry Water Officer of the Year, 2025 Region 1 Officer of the Year, and 2024 Region 1 Boating Officer of the Year. He also received a DWR excellence in police service certificate for his response to the Reagan National Airport plane crash.
