Registration Opens July 15 for Annual Virginia Outdoor Women Weekend Event
Spots are limited, early registration encouraged
Richmond, VA—The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) Virginia Outdoor Women (VOW) program is hosting its annual weekend of social engagement and skill building Aug. 21 – 23 at Holiday Lake 4-H Center in Appomattox. This weekend event offers 17 sessions for participants to choose from including fly tying, bow fishing, paddling, wildlife identification, archery, photography, camping, and firearms safety, handling, and shooting. Women of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to register and try something new! Minors must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Registration for this event is $235 and includes lodging and meals for the weekend as well as an event T-shirt. Registering early is encouraged as space is limited and sessions are selected on a first-come basis.

Full day of skill sessions, evening talk presented by VOW Program Manager, and an evening bonfire
Sunday, Aug. 23
6:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Virginia Outdoor Women Program
The VOW program includes a wide variety of events and workshops that focus on increasing knowledge and skill related to hunting, fishing, boating, and other outdoor pursuits. The goal is to get you outside with the tools and guidance you need to feel empowered and knowledgeable in the field.
DWR is committed to developing a community of women who enjoy the outdoors, value the importance of conservation and outdoor recreation, and want to have opportunities for personal growth, independence, and empowerment.
