| Notice: | The Sector Virginia Captain of the Port (COTP) is implementing a 250-yard buffer zone from the shoreline extending waterward of USCG Sector Virginia and Base Portsmouth, located on the Eastern Branch of the Elizabeth River. This MSIB applies to all mariners and vessels operating on the Elizabeth River in Craney Island Creek and the USCG Support Center Channel & Basin, adjacent to Coast Guard Base Portsmouth and Sector Virginia. Mariners are prohibited from entering, transiting, anchoring, or loitering within this 250-yard buffer without authorization from the COTP Virginia. For permission to enter the buffer zone, contact the Sector Virginia Command Center on VHF CH 16 or (877) 722-5727.
