The following local ordinances apply in Westmoreland County:
- Sec. 30-2. - Hunting prohibitions; exceptions. (reference)
(a) Definitions. The definitions for words used in this section shall be those which are contained in Code of Virginia, § 29.1-100.
(b) Prohibited acts. It shall be unlawful for any person to hunt wild birds or game species in the county with a shotgun loaded with slugs or a muzzle-loading rifle other than during the prescribed open seasons for the hunting of big game species or with a rifle of a caliber larger than 0.22 caliber. Any person who violates this section shall be guilty of a class 3 misdemeanor.
