| 1 lb. | ground deer, elk or moose meat |
| 2 lb. | apples, peeled, cored and chopped |
| ¼ lb. | butter or margarine |
| 2 cup | white sugar |
| 2 cup | packed brown sugar |
| 8 oz. | raisins |
| 5 oz. | currants |
| 1-½ cup | sweet, fresh cider |
| ½ cup | apple cider vinegar |
| 2 teaspoon | salt |
| 2 teaspoon | nutmeg |
| 2 teaspoon | ground cloves |
| 3 teaspoon | cinnamon |
| 2 teaspoon | mace |
| 3 tablespoon | brandy |
How to Prepare
Combine all ingredients, except brandy, in a large, deep kettle and boil slowly, uncovered, for 2 hours. After mixture cools , add brandy. Pour mincemeat into jars or plastic containers and freeze until ready to use. (Makes 2 quarts or 2 pies)
