The fishery is comprised primarily of smallmouth bass, bluegill, and a few bullhead catfish. The lake was drained in the fall of 2008 but the fish population has responded well since the lake was refilled and currently contains good numbers of smallmouth bass up to 16 inches. The bluegill population has also rebounded but there is still limited numbers of adult fish, most bluegill are 6 inches or smaller.

Smallmouth bass are protected with a catch and release only regulation while the remaining species are governed by statewide regulations.

Since anglers are prohibited from using live bait (except during special kids fishing events) or boats, fishing from the shoreline with artificial lures is required.
