Fishing Opportunities

It is stocked with trout and channel catfish, but also provides bass, sunfish, and crappie fishing opportunities. The sunfish and crappie have overpopulated Hone Quarry in recent years. In 1998, walleye were stocked experimentally to increase predation on sunfish and crappie to help “thin out” these populations.

  • A 14-inch minimum length limit was placed on largemouth bass in 1998 to build and hold higher numbers of largemouth in the lake to further increase predation on sunfish

  • Four fish per day creel limit

  • A trout license is required to fish these waters from October 1 through June 15

A primitive launch ramp exists at the lake, and there is a campground/picnic area below the lake.
