Important Notices for this Waterbody

Notice
Channel Catfish Stocking Discontinued Until Further Notice

Channel catfish stockings have been discontinued until further notice. Existing channel catfish populations remain in the waterbody, but anglers should expect lower catch rates over time due to the absence of continued stocking efforts.

Silver Lake is a shallow, spring fed, 10-acre City of Harrisonburg lake that is stocked with trout; but also has some largemouth bass, sunfish, and carp. A trout license is required to fish these waters from October 1 through June 15. There are no facilities, but parking and bank access are ample. Take Route 42 west of Harrisonburg to Dayton, then Route 701 northwest of Dayton.
