Hatching and Raising Striped Bass for Stocking Virginia’s Lakes

Bugg’s Island Lake/Kerr Reservoir boasts one of the only naturally reproducing land-locked striped bass populations in the United States. The inconsistent nature of this natural reproduction still necessitates the culture and stocking of striper at Vic Thomas Hatchery in Brookneal.
