Upcoming Events: Virginia Outdoor Women

We are excited to announce the first offering of VOW @ the Trail - Hosted by the Virginia Chapter of American Daughters of Conservation (ADC)!!!

This event is open to all current VA Chapter ADC members and will be open to 10 non-members through the Virginia Outdoor Women Program. If you are a current VA Chapter ADC member, you do not need to register for this event, UNLESS you are working towards a VOW Certificate and want this course to count towards the VOW Outdoor Skills Certificate option.

We will be meeting in the morning (specific details will be sent out prior to the hike), at the main trailhead parking area for Humpback Rocks Trail in Afton, VA. This hike is located in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest, right off of the Blue Ridge Parkway - there is no entry fee, or any other fees associated with this event. The total trail is a loop and is roughly 4 miles long.

There will also be an optional "social hour" afterwards for ADC members, AND any non-members who would like to learn more about ADC, and specifically the Virginia Chapter. Both the VA Chapter President and VA Vice President will be in attendance to answer questions. Specifics will be determined at the conclusion of the hike.

Come spend an evening with VOW & WOT learning about hunting here in Virginia! This is an introduction to hunting presentation and Q&A session tailored for women. We will cover a wide range of topics but will focus on providing general information about learning to hunt, and information on hunting opportunities available here in Virginia. Time will also be allotted at the end for a question and answer session.

Course Description: Habitat at Home - Come learn how to create a space for Virginia's wildlife to thrive by creating a Habitat at Home! Learn what makes good habitat and how you can provide it. Whether you have acreage in the country or a postage stamp yard in the city, you can provide habitat for Virginia's wildlife in your own backyard! This course will be 100% virtual - you don't need to have anything except yourselves and your computer!
