Carrollton Nike Park

Half of this 150-acre park has been developed for multi-use recreation. The park borders Jones Creek, so visitors can expect to see a variety of estuarine birds, such as great blue herons, as well as fiddler crabs, killifish, and other fish and invertebrates upon which these birds feed. In the trees along the open edges, visitors can watch for typical coastal woodland species including brown-headed nuthatch, eastern kingbird, and eastern bluebird. Walking trails meander through forest, marsh, and aquatic habitats, and are extended over water by an observation deck and a fishing pier where varied waterfowl may observed, particularly in the winter.
