Catfish Stocked in Urban Fishing Lakes
Old Cossey Pond is 3-acre impoundment adjacent to Memorial Park (formerly Kenmore Park) in downtown Fredericksburg and borders the Fredericksburg Canal along Kenmore Avenue. Memorial Park is located on the corner of Kenmore Ave. and Mary Ball St. It was added as a DWR Urban Fishing Program pond in 2006 and quickly became quite popular. There is full walking access to the entire shoreline.
Stocked, catchable-size trout fishing is from November through April and adult channel catfish are stocked for the warmer months (check out the regulations section for required licenses, harvest limits, and restrictions)
