The map below shows a comprehensive list of wildlife rehabilitators statewide. It is accurate and up-to-date. If there is no listing for your city/county, look for a rehabilitator in an adjacent county. If a wild animal has been injured or truly orphaned, do not take matters into your own hands. Report the incident by calling the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) wildlife conflict helpline at 1-855-571-9003, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., or find a permitted wildlife rehabilitator using the map below. Only permitted wildlife rehabilitators are legally allowed to raise a fawn in captivity. Please remember it’s illegal to keep or care for orphaned or injured wildlife unless you are a permitted wildlife rehabilitator.
Please be mindful that rehabilitators are private citizens. Telephone calls to rehabilitators should be limited to daytime hours only. The phone numbers listed may not be able to accept text messaging so please call them directly.
